EAST LANSING — Michigan State standout sophomore shooting guard Gary Harris will be sidelined 4-8 weeks after injuring his right ankle in open gym on Friday.
Michigan State basketball spokesman Matt Larson informed isportsweb of the injury on Friday, and added that the Spartans will begin practice in about four weeks with their first regular-season game being about ten weeks away.
Harris averaged 12.9 points per game last season (2nd) and shot 41 percent from the 3-point line. The reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year played most of last year with an injured right and left shoulder and was able to miss out on shoulder surgery this summer.
MSU will face Grand Valley State in their first exhibition game on Oct. 29, and their first regular season game is on Nov. 8 against McNeese State.
