Michigan Basketball’s 2014 recruiting class took a little while to start coming together, but the Wolverines picked up a commitment from Kameron Chatman on Tuesday. Then on Sunday, DJ Wilson (Sacramento, California) became the latest to commit when he pledged on his official visit this weekend.
Wilson is a 6-foot-9, 205 pound, above the rim player. He fits the mold of a John Beilein player. He’s versatile, can shoot, pass, handle the ball and play multiple positions. Wilson is also a tremendous student, sporting a 3.9 GPA at Capital Christian High School.
Wilson was in for a official visit this weekend and was able to take in Michigan’s victory over Minnesota. He received his scholarship offer while on his visit and jumped at the chance to join the Wolverines budding basketball dynasty. He becomes the fourth member of Michigan’s 2014 recruiting class.
Kameron Chatman (6-8/205)
Ricky Doyle (6-9/232)
Austin Hatch (6-6/214)
DJ Wilson (6-9/205)
Here’s an excerpt of his scouting report on espn;
Wilson has a quintessential frame with long arms and overall great length. He has many of the physical traits scouts look for in a skilled 4/3. He is still growing at almost 6-foot-9 and his ball skills (in the open court) as well as his 3-point shot are impressive. He can face-up defenders and maneuver his way to the rim as well.
Devin Booker was also in town for an official visit this weekend. He reported on twitter that it was a great visit. Kentucky is believed to be in the driver’s seat with Booker.
