His story captivated Spartan Nation as his beloved Spartans won the Big Ten Championship a week after visiting him on his death bed. He rallied for awhile but couldn’t hang on quite long enough to see his Spartans in the 100th edition of the Rose Bowl.
“My mom, Katie Thornton, has asked me to let all of you know that my dad went to heaven tonight at 6:30,” Dallas’ daughter, Kelli Thornton-Miller said tonight. “He isn’t suffering anymore. He is with my brother Tony and his parents. Please pray for us and especially for my mom. They would’ve been married 50 years in April.”
RIP, Dallas Thornton.
As you said up to the very end… Go Green.
