In a recruiting cycle that started out incredibly positive but is closing on a downward slide, Florida football received another blow when five star linebacker Lyndell Wilson cut Florida out of his top schools.
Lyndell Wilson was believed to have had Florida at the top of the list of three and even went so far as to call Florida his number one. Today, he shocked everyone when he announced in a tweet that Florida was no longer in consideration because they failed to reach out to his mother. Instead, Wilson will be taking his talents to either Alabama or archrival Georgia.
Wilson was scheduled to make an official to visit to Florida before signing day, but announced via Twitter that he would be cancelling it. For a Florida team that has been struggling on the recruiting trail recently, this was certainly the not the news they were hoping for.
