If you followed my fantasy baseball advice yesterday, it paid off for you in a big way. I advised readers to go with Jake Arrieta over Clayton Kershaw, and Arrieta delivered big time! He threw his second career no hitter with six strike outs. Chris Davis scored a run and walked four times, while Edwin Encarnacion had a walk in three at bats. There are no day games on today’s’ schedule, so tonight, fantasy baseball fans get 15 games starting at 7pm. Here are three players I like in tonight’s games:
The New York Mets ace has had a rough start to the season. He is 0-3 with a 5.71 ERA. Tonight he faces the Atlanta Braves and that is why I am using him. The Braves are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball and are just what Harvey needs to get out of this slump. Harvey still sports a mid 90s fastball and devastating breaking pitches. The opposing pitcher is Bud Norris, so that is a plus for the hitters of the Mets.
The Chicago Cubs hitters were on fire last night scoring 16 runs as a team. Power hitter Anthony Rizzo hit a three run homer to help fuel the Cubs attack. Although he is struggling with his batting average this season, (.186) I’m looking for Rizzo to have a couple of spots tonight with base runners on, to do major damage against average pitcher Jon Mascot.
Riding with two Cubs tonight. Yesterday Kris Bryant had a monster game going 4-6 with two home runs, six RBI and scoring four runs. The stud third base man has major power and should also have a chance to punish the opposing pitcher. The Cubs who have the best offense in baseball have a legit chance to score 10 plus runs again tonight.
Those are my daily fantasy picks. Check back tomorrow for more selections.
