Fantasy baseball is back for another week. On Friday I recommended Matt Harvey, Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo. All three had good games, Harvey got his first winning decision of the season, Rizzo hit a home run and Bryant knocked in a RBI double. Today’s slate of games begin at 7pm eastern. Here are three players I like in tonight’s games:
I suggested Bumgarner in his last start and he pitched well. Although he did not receive the win, Bumgarner still delivered to the tune of seven innings pitched, eight strike outs while giving up two runs. Today “MadBum” faces the San Diego Padres, a team with only one decent hitter in Matt Kemp. The Giants who are 3-7 in their last ten games need this victory. Their overall record of 9-11 is kind of fluky, as they’re one of seven teams in the National League with a positive run differential but the only one with a losing record. San Diego has the third worst record in the National League and I think the Bumgarner brings it in a big way tonight and gets the Giants a victory.
Cabrera has two hits in his last twenty at bats and hitting .206 this season. There is no doubt the Tigers first baseman is struggling. Today he gets a chance to begin turning it around. He faces righty Kendall Graveman, a pitcher with average stuff and has problems with right handed batters. Cabrera for his career has handled right handed pitching fine and I think he breaks his slump starting today.
Martinez has been hitting the ball well of late. He has picked up a hit in seven of his last eight games. Tonight he also has the opportunity to face Kendall Graveman. The Detroit Tigers have one of the best lineups in the American League, but are middle of the pack when it comes to runs scored. Today the lineup goes off and Martinez will be one of the hitters to do so.
Those are my daily fantasy baseball picks. Check back tomorrow for more selections.
