Yesterday was a great day for my picks in fantasy baseball. Miguel Cabrera went 4-4 with two home runs. Madison Bumgarner got the winning decision and pitched 6.2 innings with nine strikeouts. Cabrera’s teammate, Victor Martinez, went 2-4 with a home run. Today’s slate features every team in baseball. It is getting to the point of the season where you can see some separation between good teams/players and bad teams/players. Here are three players I like in tonight’s games:
I am always one to pick on the lowly Braves. Coming into this game they are 4-15 and scored 61 total runs, which is last in baseball. Today, they face strike out lefty David Price. Atlanta has no batter that can handle Price’s combination of power and breaking pitches. Atlanta is the worst team in the league against left handed pitching, and tonight I am expecting Price to handle them easily.
Abreu is facing Blue Jays knuckle baller R.A. Dickey tonight. For his career, Abreu is 4-9 and has hit three home runs off of Dickey. On the season, Abreu is hitting a paltry .176, so if he is to break his early season funk, it will start tonight facing Dickey. Look for Abreu to get a couple of hits off Dickey and possibly another home run.
If you have read my fantasy baseball articles in the past, you will see I favor Cubs players. It is not because I am a fan, but because they have the best offense in baseball, capable of exploding in any match up. Zobrist typically bats fifth in the lineup and always has great opportunities for RBI with Kris Bryant, Dexter Fowler, and Anthony Rizzo batting in front of him. Tonight’s forecast for Wrigley is mid 40s, which is cold for a baseball game, but I like the Cubs matchup vs Brewers righty Jimmy Nelson.
Those are my daily fantasy picks. Check back tomorrow for more selections.
