The San Francisco 49ers travel east to take on the Buffalo Bills. Heading into the game the 49ers are 1-4 while the Buffalo Bills are 3-2. Buffalo is coming off three straight victories and playing good football, while the 49ers have lost four straight games. Chip Kelly decided the team needed a shake up and benched starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert in favor of Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick has been in the news lately for his protest of the national anthem. Now that he is starting, it will be interesting to see if he still takes a knee during the anthem.
Can the 49ers find a spark on offense with Kaepernick under center? Here are the predictions from the San Francisco 49ers staff writers:
The 49ers will have a tough time battling the Buffalo Bills, who are coming off a major victory against the New England Patriots in week 5. Colin Kaepernick holds a lot of pressure, as his offensive leadership will be key for San Francisco if they’re going to have a chance against a stellar Bills defense. Without the massive presence of NaVorro Bowman, the 49er defense will need to work hard to fill his void against a highly mobile quarterback like Tyrod Taylor. The 49ers are ranked 31st against the rush this season. Between Taylor and LeSean McCoy, this game could be over early if the defense can’t improve. If Kaepernick can turn up the heat the same way he did in 2012, the offense could keep this game interesting. Still, Buffalo has the better team overall and the momentum of a three-game winning streak in their favor.

I feel like the San Francisco 49ers have no shot in this game. It might be my severe disappointment in the way the franchise has fallen off, but I believe the team has no chance off beating any decent team on the road at the moment. Having Kaepernick come into the lineup is a good thing for 49er faithful, because when he is a disaster, the team will finally know they must take a quarterback in the first round of next years’ draft. The strength of the niners at the moment is the running game, but Buffalo has a solid rush defense. San Francisco has been in games, they just cannot compete as the contest go’s on. Buffalo is playing well right now coming off three straight victories, while the 49ers are making the dreaded fly east to play in a one o’clock game trip. Buffalo wins 27-10
