The San Francisco 49ers head to Atlanta in week 15 to take on the Falcons. San Francisco enters the game with a 1-12 record, having lost 12 in a row. Nobody would like to admit, but the niners are in the hunt for the number one pick in the 2017 draft. Atlanta sits at 8-5 tied for first place in the NFC South division so they have a lot to play for. Star receiver Julio Jones will miss the game for the Falcons, but they have plenty of weapons. Will the 49ers pull off one of the biggest upsets of the year? Here are the predictions by the 49er staff writers:
For obvious reasons, it’s hard to put any faith in the 49ers as they approach their week 15 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Even with a slew of injuries affecting both sides, San Francisco’s defense will have a tough time slowing down quarterback Matt Ryan and the Atlanta offense. Ryan has already banked 4,000 passing yards and 30 touchdowns this season. Even worse, the 49er offense will be without Torrey Smith and Joe Staley, putting more pressure on the defense to contain the Falcons for a chance to win. Atlanta’s star receiver Julio Jones won’t be a problem due to a toe injury, but his absence shouldn’t stop the Falcons from destructing the lifeless San Francisco 49ers.

San Francisco has continued to fight as the season continues to go down as one of their worst in team history. Having lost 12 straight games, their is no doubt in my mind, that the 49ers will lose to the Atlanta Falcons its a matter of how bad. Atlanta top offensive threat Julio Jones will not be available for the Falcons, but that did not stop them last week from destroying the Los Angeles Rams and scoring over 40 points. The team will have their number two receiver Mohamed Sanu back in week 15. San Francisco’s defense just doesn’t have the necessary players to compete with Atlanta and the offense is depleted.
