Now that all of the new car designs have now been made public, the only thing that stands in the way of the opening Grand Prix in Australia is the pre-season testing in Spain. Beginning tomorrow, fans will have a chance to see these new automobiles take the track and what kind of advances the technical teams have made during the off-season.
While every team had something drastically new to show off during their respective reveals, it was Red Bull who has already started off this season with a controversial new component. The new nose of the RB13 with it’s elongating hole on the tip has everyone talking; defining itself from the rest of the pack. The idea for this piece came from the 2017 guidelines that were set in place to make the sport more competitive for all teams. Certain speed restrictions that are no longer factors have potentially made these new models the fastest fans have ever seen.
Mercedes will no doubt need some time to develop their team after Nico Rosberg’s departure last season, which gives Red Bull its best chance of Winning since Sebastian Vettel left the team for Ferrari. Not only do they have two of the brightest drivers with Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen, the technical advances they have made should make them the team to beat.
Hopefully, everyone will get a real chance to see how capable Red Bull’s new machine really is in the upcoming week as testing is ready to begin. The new season will surely be filled with drama and excitement, and, quite possibly, a new constructor champion for the first time in three years.
