For the first time in the history of the Champions League, a team that was beaten 4-0 in the first game, qualified to the next stage. After being defeated in Paris at all points, Barcelona did not have a lot of chances to go further in the tournament. To advance to the quarterfinals, blaugranes had to score five goals and keep their own gates safe, which seemed almost impossible, but tonight, Barcelona made the impossible possible!

From the first minutes of the game, Barcelona put pressure on PSG. The French team literally could not touch the ball and cross the middle of the pitch. As a result, it took two minutes for Barcelona to make the score 1-0. After that, the pressure from Barcelona increased and until 25th minute, PSG could not organize a single attack. Only then, they earned a couple of corners, which potentially could have been dangerous if PSG had had Sergio Ramos in the squad. However, a short period of time in the first half of the game when PSG tried to play in attack ended as soon as it started. Barcelona kept creating moments near PSG’s gates, and finally scored the second goal thanks to Andres Iniesta’s skills and the own goal by Kurzawa.
It was obvious that during the break, PSG had to change their attitude towards the game. Barcelona were destroying PSG within the first 45 minutes, which should have made Unai Emery think about his team’s performance.
The second half of the game began with the third goal for Barcelona. Messi scored the penalty earned by Neymar and Barca almost made the impossible by 50th minute of the game, but then PSG finally woke up. Cavani had several good moments to score such an important away goal. Firstly, he hit the post after a flank attack, but in the 62nd minute he made Camp Nou fall silent.

3-1, and only 28 minutes left to play. Barca had to score three goals to advance. PSG just had to play carefully in defense. By the 80th minute, the French team played well. Barcelona did not have as many moments as in the first half. Moreover, Di Maria must have scored the second goal and end the last hope for Barcelona to advance to the quarterfinals. It was the 84th minute…
Barcelona still needed three goals and they had less than ten minutes. In the 87th minute, blaugranes earned a free kick near PSG’s gates. Neymar took the ball and left no chances for Kevin Trapp to save.
4-1. Around 8 minutes left to score two goals. Suddenly, Barcelona earned their second penalty and Neymar scored another goal, making the score 5-1.
The referee added five minutes and Barcelona went to attack. Even Andre Ter-Stegen, Barcelona’s goalkeeper, left his gates and went to the opposite half of the pitch. As a result, one minute before the final whistle, he earned a free kick. Neymar delivered the ball to the penalty area, the defenders saved, but Neymar delivered the ball again and Sergi Roberto scored the most important goal in his career, making the final score 6-1 and 6-5 on aggregate.
