UFC 200 will be an epic event and very well could be the last under the current ownership. The main event of UFC 200 is Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier, for the light heavyweight title. This fight is the rematch but the first fight is when all the hatred built up. During a media interview with both fighters, Jones repeatedly called Cormier a pussy, while Cormier called Jones fake. This happened after the two had a brawl at a press conference, in which Cormier through a shoe at Jones. You can watch the brawl and the ESPN interview here. The interview is not work safe.
In addition to analysis and prediction, this article will feature information about whether or not a particular fight’s betting line has value. So many of these fights feature top caliber athletes pitted against one another, and simply stating who is going to win is basically a 50/50 shot. However, in this rendition of my articles, I will give myself fictional money and place wagers on fighters. The object being, to see how much money I can accrue by selecting the best value. I’ll start with a fictional $1000 and the more it grows, the better values I am generating. If I lose it all, I will stop writing these articles. Let’s get started.
Analysis and Predictions via Isportsweb.com record, 41-32:
Jon “Bones” Jones vs Daniel Cormier
“Bones” is the best fighter in the world because of his freaky athleticism and reach. He uses his seven foot wing span to keep opponents at bay while damaging them. He is also a very dirty fighter, consistently poking opponents in the eyes and kicking them in their knees. Almost all of Jon’s opponents leave the fight with some type of lingering injury. Jones is a big bad man who wants to hurt people. Cormier on the other hand is a stout wrestler with a great gas tank. It’s rare to see a man as thick as Cormier have that kind of stamina but Cormier is the self proclaimed King of Grind and he is not too far off. This will be a knockdown, drag-out fight, ending with a decision, however, Jon has too many ways to finish this fight.
“Bones”, via Unanimous Decision.
Betting value: With Jones at -290, it’s rare to buy him this cheaply. I’ll bet $60 to win $80, profiting $20.
Frankie “The Answer” Edgar vs Jose “Scarface” Aldo
In yet another rematch, Edgar vs Aldo is a number 1 contenders match. Look for Frankie to outperform Aldo and take the decision.
“The Answer”, via Unanimous Decision.
Betting value: Both fighters are at even money and the market is right, this fight is a toss-up. No bet.
Brock Lesnar vs Mark “The Super Samoan” Hunt
The fight is a one-off for Lesnar, who we can assume is getting a hefty payday and will go back to being a W.W.E attraction afterward. Mark Hunt, on the other hand, has been training and improving greatly as a mixed martial artist and will run right through the novice, Lesnar.
Mark Hunt, via KO, round 1
Betting value: Hunt is only a -170 favorite. That is great value, considering he has more ways to win. I’ll bet $100 to win $170, Profiting $70.
