Juan Pierre will be in the leadoff role for the next 4-6 weeks. Do you think for one second that he intends to surrender that spot without a death grip? Or are you of the opinion that he’ll cool off and land on the pine? I’ll explain my opinion in this review.
Penthouse Occupancy for the 7-2 triumph: 7
The Crystal Champagne Toast is a salute to Cole Hamels.
He had a 1-hitter after 19 outs and a 2-RBI dunker to cap off the 6th.
The 6 hot producers at the top were Polly Polanco, Chooch Ruiz, Hunter Pence, Laynce Nix, Ty Wigginton and Juan Pierre.
Rally Tal & Cap in the 6th: 5 singles and 2 walks were strung together for 5 runs.
Pence was found guilty in the Kangeroo Court House after his 1st-inning hesitation cost the team a more comfortable lead. Ruiz was penalized for trying to score from first on a wild pitch in the 2nd.
The cell door closed and the Big House jailed Pete Orr after his bases-loaded boot in the 7th.
I will publish after every battle that is not washed out. The Phillies finished last summer 42 games over .500, which equaled a year of many positives. I will have many season-long highlights of puzzle pieces, especially important after drubbings and defeats.

One area that I haven’t covered to any degree is the offense, because it existed for a day here and there. However, there are now 19 frames of bat-rack rattling, which began with Joe Pa. Thank you, Joe Paterson. The famous name was Kirk Gibson’s nickname for him, but he caught the next bus to Triple-A. He faced 5 sticks, was lashed for 5 knocks and 5 tallies.
Most local fans were asleep when the outburst unclogged their lumber. Starting with the 9th on Monday night, the red pinstripes have collected 20 runs and 30 hits. Five players accumulated 19 knocks, plated 13 and produced 10 RBI with 3 bombs. Wigginton went 2 for 7 in those 2 victories during his current 11-game hitting streak, which means 2 regulars need to catch the bug: Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino.

The conventional wisdom is that Pierre is done, is no longer a major theft merchant, and is a downgrade in leftfield. That said, he filled in for Manny Ramirez during 2009, and had to take a seat after averaging .308 over 380 at-bats. It was a surprise because he was portrayed as a fourth outfielder, who could no longer perform daily in any capacity. The same people are now opining a should-retire message with other words. When this character smells an opportunity, he puts wood on it. He will earn a lot of leftfield real estate after Ryan Howard and Chase Utley re-enter the lineup.
Polly ended his April slump, is now about to singe some sticks, and he’ll move Pierre into scoring position on many occasions. J-Roll, Hunter and Vic will have multiple RBI chances per contest this weekend. The hitting bug is spreading through the clubhouse and dugout for a packed house to appreciate. These 4 battles will be their sendoff for Atlanta and Washington.
He has progressed to the point of almost never having a bad outing. He has a clunker every 3 months, while most horses have 3 in that timeframe. I can only be wrong twice a summer, if I say he’ll have an solid appearance.

He is near the bottom of the rotation on non-contending clubs. His best campaigns are at the 3 or solid 4 level, but that is not an annual occurrence. He is equally capable of a good or bad showing.

Ranking is 1 to 5 & 15 for the less adventurous.

The next preview of Nitecap Insight is on hold due to continuing feed problems. It will return shortly at Tal’s Handy Caps on Facebook. Join for notification of future glimpses, which will be almost daily. You’ll also know immediately when my isportsweb post goes up. Tal’s Handy Stats is daily coverage. I am alternating the 2012 ERA For The NL East and the 2012 ERA For The MLB 5. Thank you, to all who bookmarked the Phillies page, because feeds are erratic at times.
