Earlier this week, the Oakland Raiders signed linebacker Navorro Bowman to a one-year-deal worth up to $3 million.
After just four days with the team, coach Jack Del Rio has said that Bowman will play on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Del Rio said the team isn’t trying to throw too much at him this fast and that they are installing the game plan into his head rather than the actual playbook.
Bowman has 38 tackles on the year through five games.
The former San Francisco 49ers linebacker has also been selected to three pro bowls and four All-Pro teams.
The linebacker spot has been one of the weakest spots for the Raiders defense this season and having a player of Bowman’s caliber in there will help tremendously.
He brings awareness, work ethic, and experience to the field everyday and hopefully that rubs off onto some of the younger guys.
Bowman’s play will especially help tonight because Chiefs’ running back Kareem Hunt is the best running back in football right now.
The Raiders hope Bowman’s leadership will rub off on the rest of the team to help save their season that will probably be done if they lose tonight.
