The Washington Redskins have managed to stay relevant despite their horrid injury luck this season. Just when people thought that they were starting to hit on all cylinders, the injury bug hit them hard.
The bulk of the injuries has occurred in the defensive backfield and the offensive line. Despite these injuries, the Redskins had the game in their hands against the New Orleans Saints. Even though they were up by double digits with about three minutes remaining, they could not quite close the deal.
This choke job against the Saints was a huge hit to their playoff chances. Even though this loss was devastating, the Redskins can still keep their playoff chances alive by beating one of their division rivals.
The New York Giants have been plagued twice as hard by the injury bug. It seems like every key player on their team has been sidelined with a huge injury. After starting off terribly slow, they have started to play a bit better, even with limited weapons. The most notable win they’ve had is their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.
Since this is a division game, the records will be thrown out of the window once the ball is kicked off. My prediction is that the Redskins will look to avenge that embarrassing loss to the Saints with a victory at home. They will beat the Giants 24-14 and keep their playoff hopes alive.
With this victory, the Redskins will hope to get back some key pieces on their offensive line in order to continue to fight for an NFC wild card spot. I believe Jamison Crowder will have a huge impact on the game and pick up the slack with Chris Thompson being out. It will be interesting to see if the Redskins still show any fight and hope despite being severely banged up.
