With the 2017 season all wrapped up, Formula 1 looks forward to what a new season could bring. The majority of the pack will most likely look identical to last season, as many of the previous drivers will race at least one more season with their current team. Both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas are signed on for one more season with Mercedes. Also, Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will return hoping to dethrone Mercedes in both the Constructor and Driver Championships.
While Hamilton has been looking to the future in regards to retirement, Vettel stated that he will continue to drive for as long as he gets enjoyment out of the sport. Neither driver has officially announced when they will be departing from the sport, but with four Driver Championships each, they will both go down as a few of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 history.
Red Bull will start off the new season with the same two drivers as well. Both Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have proven they deserve to be mentioned within the best of the current drivers. However, without a Championship since 2013, they will need to find ways to overtake both Ferrari and Mercedes if Red Bull intend on building a dynasty with the youthful drivers.
Until next year, fans will have to wait and see what sort of changes these teams will make and what sort of impact that will have on a new season.
