The Washington Redskins are in a familiar position at this time of the year. The injuries that have occurred this year have really derailed the Redskins’ potential. Last week’s thrashing by the San Diego Chargers officially eliminated the Redskins from playoff contention.
Nonetheless, they will still have to suit up and take on the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are another team that has been plagued by injuries all season long. It began with a gruesome injury to their star running back, David Johnson. The injury bug bit the Cardinals again when Carson Palmer was taken out of the lineup for the season.
The Redskins will definitely have to play a lot better than they played last week if they want to come up with the win. The Chargers completely embarrassed the Redskins. The offensive struggled to move the chains while the defense was lit up by Philip Rivers.
This week, the Redskins will prevail in a close battle, 17-14. Kirk Cousins will look to rally the troops after a bad loss last week. The defense will also be able to contain Larry Fitzgerald and force a lot of three and outs. It is disappointing that the Redskins will not be able to contend for a playoff spot, but fans will still want to see them battle and fight for the win.
