In June of 2016, Otis Reese, along with his Lee County teammate Aubrey Solomon, committed to play his college football for Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines. Reese played safety in high school, but projects as a linebacker in college. He is the No. 6 ranked outside linebacker in the country and the No. 92 player overall, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Reese is still verbally committed to play for the Wolverines, but he has serious interest in Georgia. He has made numerous unofficial visits to Georgia this season and that has Michigan fans a bit nervous. Nervous because Reese is a game-changing linebacker who would fit perfectly in Don Brown’s penetrate, attack and knock ‘em back scheme.
Michigan’s coaching staff has recently made several trips to Lee County to check in with Reese and to let him know he is a priority recruit.
Reese was named the 1-AAAAAA Player of the Year in Georgia by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as voted by the coaches. Michigan’s coaching staff would like to plug Reese in at the Viper position.

Reese was not expected to sign during the early signing period and he has not provided any recent updates on his status. So this is one that won’t be resolved for a while, probably until February. Other than Reese, Ronnie Bell and Kevin Doyle, all of Michigan’s verbal commits have signed their letters of intent. Joe Milton, Myles Sims and Taylor Upshaw will be enrolling at Michigan in January.
