Since the departure of Dani Alves, Juventus have felt the pains of failing to adequately replace the talented Brazilian. Initially, Mattia De Sicglio and Stephan Lichsteiner were the go to candidates to plug the hole at right back. But with Juve conceding more goals than they are accustomed to, it seems that the only option will be to desperately look towards a transfer market where talented full backs are scarce to say the least. With limited options, there are currently two players which Juventus have the greatest chances of signing; Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian and Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin.
Re-starting strong after the winter break? The Bianconeri know a thing or two about that! ? ??

Man United’s Estranged Matteo Darmian
During his time at Torino, Matteo Darmian was arguably one of the most promising full backs not only in the Serie A but all of Europe. During his 2012-2013 season Darmian recorded the most tackles per game across Europe’s top five leagues. In his 2014-2015 season it was clear that Darmian would move on from such a humble club Torino, the only question was where. Throughout the early summer of 2015, Darmian was heavily linked with several massive clubs both in Italy and abroad. However by the second week of July, Darmian signed a four year contract with the English giant Manchester United.
When Darmian joined Manchester United the expectations for him were extremely high given that he was purchased in the midst of a massive rebuilding phase for the English club. While he did perform great initially, Darmian found it hard to become a consistent starter during Manchester United’s coaching carousel. Now with Jose Mourinho at the helm, the player that was once the best full back in Italy has been reduced to a reliable substitute at best.

With the 28 year old Italian approaching the end of his four year contract, Juventus are keen on offering Darmian a chance at turning around his career as his time in Englad has turned sour. While Jose Mourinho will likely keep him till the end of his contract; Juventus probably see Darmian as the best “bang for your buck” right back on the market. Taking all this into consideration, there is a very good chance we will see Darmian not only in Italy but in a Black and White Jersey.
While Matteo Darmian seems to be the most realistic solution for Juve’s woes at right back, Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin remains on Juve’s radar. According to tuttosport, Juventus are closely monitoring the Spanish fullback as Arsenal looks ready to shed their most talented players Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil. While the Spanish Right back will command a massive transfer fee, Juventus may be able to comfortably sign the talented youngster if they manage to do well in the champions league and off load some of their highly valued players.

With Bellerin at right back Juventus will be able to replicate the brutal counter attacks they were known for in their 2016-2017 Champions League campaign; and with Arsenal looking to miss the Champions League two years in a row, the prospect of playing on club football’s biggest stage may be enough to lure the Spaniard to Italy.
