The 2018 season of Formula 1 starts in just over a month, and teams are beginning to unveil their cars for the new year. So far the teams have found a way to incorporate the new requirements without compromising too much in the design. Specifically, the halos that most drivers were opposed to, have shown not to be too much of an eye sore.
While most teams have not officially revealed their new car designs, Red Bull has uncovered the RB14 with the new halo. At first, they revealed the RB14 with a camouflage paint design, but afterwards they released the black and blue version that is more likely to make the grid for the opening Grand Prix in Australia. On top of this, Daniel Ricciardo was the first driver to show off the new car today at Silverstone. Red Bull is hoping that this will be the car that will finally put them back in contention to win the Constructor Championship.
McLaren released a short video that will most likely point to return of the orange paint scheme on some of their earlier designs. The design not only has nostalgic appeal, but it is also similar to the car that Fernando Alonso drove in the Indy 500 last year.
Much more is still to come in the upcoming weeks as the rest of the 2018 models will be revealed.
