Liverpool embarks on a crucial summer transfer window, as they look to build off a runner-up finish in the Champions League and another top-4 finish in the Premier League. The need depth and have addressed some of that with spending nearly 100 million pounds on midfielders Naby Keita and Fabinho.
But now they need to find a proper Phillippe Coutinho replacement and extra bodies along the front line to cover for Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, and Sadio Mane. With Paris Saint-German in a tricky situation, their winger Julian Draxler would be the perfect acquisition for the Reds.
💰 Goncalo Guedes or Julian Draxler? 🤔💭 https://t.co/yj5yy1BIRQ

The 24-year-old German international is just what Liverpool need. He is a world-class player who can play anywhere along the front line along with attacking midfielder and center mid. Draxler could slot into the deeper role of attacking or center mid, as Coutinho did, and supply the front trio. And at the same time, left-wing is one of his primary positions, so he can rotate into it when Klopp looks to keep players fresh.
His style of play fits in well with what Jurgen Klopp is looking for. He loves quick passing, is very good at through balls and crosses, loves to play on the counter, and has tremendous technique and vision. He has excellent pedigree, having 45 (and counting) caps for the German national team, a World Cup title and is currently a World Cup starter for arguably the best team in the world.
Draxler is the kind of player that could take Liverpool to the next level. And as mentioned earlier, PSG may need to sell him to raise the money that they need to without getting in trouble from the FPP.
And Draxler may have a reason to leave as well. He only started 17 of his 46 appearances for the French side, and a player of his caliber that is just entering his physical prime, you need to get consistent starts instead of rotting away on the bench. Unless he is ok with that or feels that he can win a spot eventually.
But even then, Liverpool offers a better opportunity. He’d be joining a Champions League squad that showed they could compete for a CL title and playing under fellow countryman and manager Jurgen Klopp. He would virtually be guaranteed to substantial playing time and a crucial role on the team. The Premier League is also bigger, better, and more competitive than Ligue 1, which would help Draxler improve his game and reputation. Unless he does not like competition that is.
The talent is there, Liverpool has the money, and potentially a better opportunity for the German. And Klopp has reportedly been high on him for a while, so the time is now to snap him up.
