WWE Extreme Rules is this Sunday live from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania. With a full match card featuring matches under extreme rules including a steel cage match and an extreme rules match for the Raw Women’s Championship, not to mention the 30-minute Iron-Man match for the Intercontinental Championship. That being said let’s take a look at each of the matches and their possible outcomes.
The New Day(Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods) faces Sanity( Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain) in a tables match. Sanity has been rolling through the competition since their debut last month on SmackDown Live where they attacked the Usos. Since their June 19th debut they have attacked the New Day which has led to this tables match at Extreme Rules. Sanity picks up the victory over the New Day this weekend, as they become the new major faction of the WWE
Finn Balor faces Constable of Raw Baron Corbin in a singles match. Both superstars could use a victory at the event, but ultimately I think Balor needs the victory more, as he looks to find his spot among the best of Monday Night Raw.
United States Champion Jeff Hardy defends his championship against Shinsuke Nakamura in a singles match. After successfully defending his championship two weeks ago in an open challenge against the Miz, Hardy’s reign will meet its end this weekend. It is time for Nakamura to finally win his first championship on the main roster.
Alexa Bliss must defend her Raw Women’s Championship in an Extreme Rules Match against rival Nia Jax. This is the first rematch for the title since Bliss cashed in money in the bank last month. This match could get out of hand, but with Ronda Rousey’s suspension ending before Sunday could we see her get involved. I think Bliss will retain with a sneaky victory, but she better watch out because when she fights Rousey the belt won’t be staying in Bliss’ hands for long.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella again faces her fierce rival Asuka once again. Now would be a great time for Asuka to win a championship wouldn’t it. James Ellsworth will be high above the ring in a shark cage, but no matter how much the WWE needs Asuka to be champion, it still won’t happen as Carmella will find a way to keep the gold around her waist.Embed from Getty Images
Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt defend the Raw Tag Team Championships against the B-Team( Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas). The B-Team has one everytime on Raw for the past month, however, the funny actions of Axel and Dallas will not be good enough to be tag team champions. Wyatt and Hardy’s reign will continue.
The 30-minute Iron-man match for the Intercontinental Championship between current Champion Dolph Ziggler and former champion Seth Rollins. Rollins was on fire since WrestleMania until he ran into the pair of Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. This match could steal the show. I think this match will come down to end and may even need extra time. Ultimately my prediction for this match is Seth Rollins will overcome the odds and become a two-time Intercontinental Champion.
The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) defend their SmackDown Tag Team Titles against the best tag team going in the WWE right now Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan and Kane). This tag team match could have big meanings for both teams. Ultimately I think SmackDown needs a change of the tag team gold, so with that my pick for this match is Team Hell No.
Braun Strowman faces Kevin Owens in a Steel Cage Match. Strowman has destroyed Owens car, plus dumped Owens over in a portapotty in recent weeks. Now we could see Owens being dominated in a steel cage match. My pick for this match is the Monster Among Men Braun Strowman, Mr. Money in the Bank is on a role.
AJ Styles faces Rusev for the WWE Championship. Rusev has earned his first opportunity at a world championship. Rusev joins the many lists of superstars going from mid-card performer to the Main Event. Styles and Rusev will have a great match, Rusev will prove he belongs on that stage but he has bright future ahead, just not on Sunday AJ Styles will retain.
To of the most powerful superstars to date collide in a battle. This week on Raw a massive brawl between Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns rocked the arena Monday night. Now the Big Dog Roman Reigns faces the Dominator Bobby Lashley. This match will be explosive. I’m going to make a bold prediction here, Bobby Lashley will defeat Reigns in an awesome and explosive match.
