A lot has transpired since last Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Running back Le’Veon Bell is up for trade, wide receiver Antonio Brown missed Monday’s practice, corner back Coty Sensabaugh is starting in place of corner back Artie Burns, and Mike Tomlin had heart to heart with the team Tuesday.
There seems to have been a lot of disfunction this week, but a win Monday would steer the Steelers in the right direction. The Buccaneers have the 31st ranked defense, and the Steelers currently have the number 2 ranked offense so the match up should be favorable. On the flip side, the Steelers have the 24th ranked defense and the Buccaneers have the number 1 ranked offense.
This isn’t slated to be a defensive match up by any means, so I’m expecting a shoot out. Buccaneers Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has torn apart opposing defenses for the last two weeks. The Steelers secondary has been abysmal for a couple of seasons now, so it’s imperative that the offense gets off to a quick start.
Running back Le’Veon Bell still hasn’t shown up to team facilities, so he’s now being discussed in trade talks. Bell was spotted at a club in Miami after the Steelers loss to the Chiefs last week. Bell isn’t even listed on the Steelers website anymore. There is a lot of turmoil between Bell and the Steelers, but in order to be traded Bell has to sign and play on the franchise tag this season. The Steelers still have the 2nd ranked offense without Bell, which is encouraging for their team.
The Buccaneers will have to out score the Steelers in this match up, and the Steelers defense will have to play better than they played the last two weeks. The Steelers (0-1-1) will try to get their first win, while the Buccaneers (2-0) will try to stay undefeated. The Steelers have the team to go far, but they have to stop with the distractions that’ve hurt them time and time again. The Steelers are currently a reality television show, but a win tonight could help them get over the hump. The future of the Steelers may be in jeopardy, hopefully they prove me and the world wrong.
