Manchester Untied will take on Arsenal tomorrow. This is another huge rival for Arsenal to face, taking down their North London rivals this past Sunday, beating Tottenham 4-2. Manchester United have been looking shaky this past season, coming off of a draw against Southampton, having to come back after The Saints scored two quick goals against them.
Arsenal have looked very inform this season, under their new manager, Unai Emery. This is Emery’s first time coaching a team in the Premier League, and he has done a magnificent job with the Gunners. Emery has had success with clubs he has coached in the past. When he coached Lorca and Almeria in Spain, he was able to promote both teams to the second division and then to first and top division of Spanish football. He then went to Valencia and had very good things said about him while he was there. Former Spanish winger Joaquin, said “He’s obsessed with football – it’s practically an illness. He’s one of the best managers I’ve had. I worked with him for three years.” Emery then went to PSG and in a span of two years was able to win the Ligue 1 title as well as four domestic trophies.
Emery has lead Arsenal to a 9-3-2 record, putting them in 4 place with 30 points. Arsenal’s two losses came from the first two games of the season, which were against Chelsea and Manchester City, two tough teams to play against with a new coach. Emery is quoted saying his “lucky” when it comes to making substitutions during games. His changes mid game have led to eight goals and seven assists in the Premier League, more then any other team. He subbed on Aaron Ramsey against Tottenham and he was able to get two assists, he also subbed on Alexander Lacazette, who scored to give Arsenal the lead. Arsenal will definitely feel confident when they travel to Old Trafford tomorrow.
Many people and even United fans believe that they don’t stand a chance against the powerhouse Arsenal has turned out to be. After their draw against Southampton, there were tons of headlines reporting about the unrest taking place in United’s dressing room. Although, former United player, Gary Neville believes that his old team can defeat the Gunners tomorrow. On his podcast Gary Neville Podcast, Neville talked about how playing in Old Trafford is always a hard game for the traveling team. “The atmosphere of the stadium puts pressure on the players.” United will have to be on point in all aspects of their game if they want to defeat the Gunners tomorrow.
