It is obvious that Pittsburgh Steelers superstar receiver, Antonio Brown is desperate to do whatever it takes to get out of the steel city. Tweeting early last week, “Thank you SteelerNation for a big 9 years… time to move forward #NewDemands.” With this in mind, we’re going to take a look at the top five trade landing spots for Brown.
1.San Francisco 49ers
Last season the 49ers leading receiver was George Kittle, a tight end with 1,377 receiving yards. The leading receiver on the roster was Kendrick Boone who had only 487 yards. It’s clear that the 49ers are in dire need of a big-time receiver, and who better than Antonio Brown. AB has seemed very open to their recruiting thus far as well as he liked and responded to a tweet directed at him from Kittle himself. With Brown’s playmaking ability, Kyle Shanahan’s offense, and Jimmy Garoppolo throwing him the ball, it’s intriguing to think about what they could be.
As future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald’s career is coming to an end the Arizona Cardinal’s will be craving another star receiver, and Brown is the best option. With Fitz only catching 6 of the teams combined 15 receiving touchdowns last year as well, young quarterback Josh Rosen needs more targets. Copying the 49ers approach, All-Pro cornerback Patrick Peterson has also tweeted at AB saying, ”Yo @AB84 …..Hit my line.” If Arizona managed to pull off this trade, they would be prepared for the loss of Larry Fitzgerald and have a player in place that would help a young talent in Josh Rosen.
3.Green Bay Packers
We’ve heard the story year in and year out how Aaron Rodgers needs a solid receiver to win it all. Give the Packers Brown and they have no more excuses. Antonio Brown, Davonte Adams, and Aaron Rodgers, what an offense that would be. The Packers also have two first-round picks this upcoming draft, making them a very pliable option if they were willing to shell out.
4.New York Jets
With rookie stardom Sam Darnold in the pocket and AB in the bright lights of New York City, the Jets could be something of a powerhouse we haven’t seen from them in a long time. Recent reports have also stated that they are also a potential location for teammate, Le’Veon Bell. As the Jets are looking at having close to $100 million in cap space in 2019, it would be incredible to see the two link up once again in the big apple.
At the beginning of the season, Alex Smith joining the redskins seemed to be a huge bright spot for an organization who had just lost Kirk Cousins. That being said, in 2018 the Skins didn’t have a receiver go over 560 yards. With that Brown was only one receiving touchdown short of the Redskins yearly total. Now looking ahead there is a big question mark in the quarterback position for next season, but one thing’s for sure, AB would definitely help. These are extremely depressing times in Washington D.C. and a move for the best receiver in the league would be a great start in mending the wound.
