Following an impressive week for the Hoosiers, they travel to Seattle to play three west coast teams. It is officially titled the “Seattle baseball showcase” and held at T-Mobile Park, where the Seattle Mariners play their home games. The three-day, round-robin tournament pairs west coast schools with national collegiate teams, each playing one game per day. Teams representing this year’s showcase include Washington, Oregon State, Coastal Carolina, San Diego, Minnesota, and Indiana. You can see the schedule for the weekend below.

First game for Indiana comes at 10 PM EST against Washington. Hoosiers come in with a 6-5 record and have looked like a top 25 team besides the weekend against Tennessee. The Huskies come in with an 8-2 record but do not have any big wins thus far, RPI ranking them at 66 in the country. With Pauly Milto likely to start this game, it could vault Indiana to a Friday win. Milto has been dominating so far this season but it will leave pitching questions for the other two games. It would put Tanner Gordan slated to face fourth-ranked Oregon State and Tommy Sommer to throw versus San Diego. Both these starters have shown they can start at the division one level but, they have not shown it consistently. It would be interesting to see if Jeff Mercer decides to use his bullpen early and often against Oregon State.
Oregon State is coming off a CWS championship and entering this game with a 10-1 record. The Beavers have an excellent hitting lineup with a team average of .278 but their pitching is even better. Their team ERA is 2.18 with multiple relievers still not allowing an earned run this season. Hoosiers will need to come out and grab an early lead in hopes to pull off this upset.

San Diego is coming into this game with a 9-4 record and not playing as well as they did last year with RPI ranking them 157 in the country. This will obviously be the easiest team Indiana faces the whole weekend but not a team to look over as they have a team batting average of .310 and have already surpassed 100 runs batted in this season. They also have been listed as one of ten teams on the upswing by d1baseball.com. As long as Sommer comes out on Sunday as he has, Indiana should be able to come out of this weekend 2-1 at the minimum.
After posting a 4⃣-1⃣ record in the past week, @d1baseball has listed the Toreros as one of their 🔟 teams "On the Upswing"!
