Since the arrival of Eden Hazard to Chelsea in the summer of 2012, rumors have constantly rolled around about his inevitable transfer to Real Madrid. Each season the rumors grow stronger and the Chelsea Faithful worry a little more. Ever since the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Juventus, Los Blancos fans have been bouncing with excitement at the chance Hazard joins their side.
Eden Hazard has arguably been the best footballer in the Premier League since his debut and his exquisite abilities continue to improve. For the Blue side of London, in 341 appearances, Eden Hazard has scored an unbelievable 106 goals and registered 87 assists. Some fans may brush these stats aside, but the Belgian has played under 6 separate managers, each with their own play style. Hazard has done extremely well to reach the numbers he has, and to win all the trophies he has won.
Real Madrid have had themselves a poor season based on previous seasons. A staggering 13 points behind league leaders Barcelona, and 2 points behind Atletico Madrid, leaves Real Madrid in third place in the Primera Division. Since resigning manager Zinedine Zidane, eyebrows have been raised about the signing of Hazard. Both Zidane and Hazard have publicly stated that they’d love to be in the same squad.
With the incoming transfer ban starting this Summer, Chelsea fans do have something to be worried about if Hazard leaves. Without the ability to fill the gaping hole, Chelsea will most likely be starting Callum Hudson-Odoi on the left wing and giving the 18-year old the chance he has earned.
In the next couple of weeks, new stories will surface about the situation, but Chelsea fans will stay on their toes until the end of the Summer transfer window.
